A distinct lack of juice

I made it, the bag with the power supply for my laptop did not. That’s the laptop whose battery I drained playing Snood during the flight.

I have mobile web until the airline delivers my bag tomorrow afternoon (let us hope that they find it). That’s it, though. Email replies will be brief; please don’t mistake brevity for curtness.

  1. Radio Shack sells universal power adapters. Buy one today, return it tomorrow.

  2. Hmm. I don’t think that would be ethical. Open to dissenting opinion!

More to the point, I’ve already bought and returned a cell phone charger from the local Radio Shack (because a friend ended up selling me his spare a couple of hours after I bought one). I don’t want to get a reputation as a big returner!

  3. “a reputation as a big returner.”
I’m sorry, this is making me laugh so much. There’s just so many ways to construe it!
Anyway, I agree with Jaq: not really ethical. But I would full-court press the airline and tell them, hey, I can’t work and it’s your fault and you need to make it right for me pronto.

  4. Continental was pretty good on this score. More to the point, they’ve contracted a very helpful logistics company whose people took a lot of care to contact me, let me know what was going on, and even deliver the bag ahead of schedule.

In a way, it was nice not to have my laptop for a bit, since it meant I went to sleep earlier and also got to do some necessary offline work today. All good!
