A welcome change

My new flat

I’ve been waiting an agonising couple of weeks to find out whether this deal was actually going to happen or not, but I found out today that it is, and I couldn’t be more relieved or elated: I’m moving back to America, on at least a part-time basis, for at least the next several months.
To answer the question I’ve already been fielding from others: No, Antoine and I are not breaking up or “taking a break” or anything like that. I’ve got a lot of work on in the US this year, and it makes financial sense for me to get a base there from where I can travel to various cities and do my thing. The toughest part of this development is that Antoine and I will inevitably see one another less often, at least for the short-term. We’ll still be together, one way or another, for most of the time.
I’d rather not say exactly where I’m going to be, for boring but good reasons, but it’s a major US city that has direct flights to and from London. That’s important. More importantly, I’m going to be in a 1200 square foot apartment - something I could only dream of affording in central London. (It’s that candle-lit place up there; don’t know if I will be creating quite so many fire hazards, though.)
Oh, and I have to be there to move in on March 10. I’m so relieved and excited that I don’t even care that I’ll be a travelling zombie at that point. This should be good.

Yay!
Mysterious, exciting and a big flat - nice work Ms D!
Great news - the new flat looks fantastic. Best of luck over there.
you know San Francisco fits that bill….
I am to San Francisco as Paris Hilton is to a nunnery. No way.
Congratulations Jackie - and as a long-term survivor of a long-distance relationship, I can honestly say that it will be hard but it’s more than possible! Check out the size of my bump for proof…
All the very best with everything, C.
Judging by the sq. footage, it’s not in NY…
