A year in Cincy

One year ago today

Originally uploaded by dynamist.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of when I landed in Cincinnati. I have grown to love so much of this city and many of its people. It’s been real, and it’s been fun, and it’s been real fun.

Will I stay here? I don’t know. My lease is up in August. I was born with itchy feet, and I find it hard to imagine ever settling anywhere. I suppose I will have to do so sooner or later. Whether it will be here is something I haven’t decided. It’s a dilemma for me, as I love my friends here and this is definitely a city on the rise. But it’s a big world out there, and I haven’t experienced nearly enough of it yet.

Anyway, I just wanted to mark the passage of this arbitrary unit of time in some way. This gives me something to link to when I do make up my mind about renewing that lease…

  1. congratulations!

I’m still impressed that you did that. Happy next year too!

  2. Thank you, Alice. One definition of myself that I hold is “person who does extremely nutty, spontaneous things which somehow work out well”. That can be dangerous, too, but so far, so good.

  3. I’m glad you chose to touch down in Cincinnati, can’t imagine how boring our lives would be if we had never met you.
I’ll always know exactly how long we’ve know you since we met on my wedding anniversary.

  4. How much trouble would you be in if you referred to that date as “the anniversary of meeting Jackie…oh, and of our wedding”?

You know I’d be twiddling my thumbs all the time if not for you and the little woman (speaking of getting in trouble, she’ll throttle me for that!).

  5. Congrats on the anniversary, Jackie. Here’s hoping you decide to stick around!
