…aaand, exhale!
What MySpace Means, the event that has cost me more sleep than my own wedding probably will, took place today. I can’t speak for the people who attended, but will say that the ones who talked to me afterwards had some really quite complimentary things to say about the day. I’m still in the middle of writing thank you notes to speakers and attendees, and need to upload photos to Flickr and blog my notes and all that stuff that keeps me from saying that this event is done. But the pain-in-the-backside admin element has passed, which is nothing but good.
I have already started receiving some quite surprisingly thoughtful feedback emails. Of course, it’s easy to let yourself believe the positive comments that people give to your face - and don’t get me wrong: I am thankful for every one of those, which did strike me as sincere. But I find it extremely touching that these people have made such a point to get in touch with me before I’ve had a chance to get in touch with them, telling me exactly which bits they got the most value from and what they’d like to see more of next time. The fact that people want there to be a next time is great to hear.
Some people got some value from this thing I did today. If I get to the point where I can say that every day, I’ll be a happy woman indeed.
