Five stand-out things about my trip to London:

1) One of my trains left on time! (The two others did not.)

2) I went to my favorite London charity shops and did not buy a single thing. I blame it on a combination of the exchange rate and my discerning taste (okay, mostly the former).

3) I’d forgotten how nice it is to be utterly and completely looked after, 24/7.

4) I’d also forgotten how nice it is to be surrounded by people who never ask, expect, or want you to be anything except what you are at that moment.

5) I don’t think I ever realized how desperately sad it is to leave your other home - your other life, really - when you don’t know how long it will be before you return. Maybe because I’ve never done that until now.

Sorry, Adam got all melancholy and I took it as permission for me to do the same. I’m sure I’ll be back soon enough. (Yes, that’s a threat!)
