Axosoft and the $495 discount
I read this from Scoble:
Axosoft is selling its $495 project management software for only $5 and it’s donating that to the American Red Cross. I’m not getting a thing, they just emailed me and I thought this was cool. It’s only for three days.
Right now, they’ve got $3,525 worth of donations for the Red Cross, including $5 from me. The software looks like it’s worth trying for five bucks, especially since it’s going to a good cause.
There are no links to the special offer from the Axosoft main site, as they’re trying to spread the meme through the network only. Interesting, though I have to say that my cynical self did start to get suspicious when the default setting for support extras costing hundreds of dollars was “Yes”. And when the site made me register as a member (I had only to enter an email address and password), I thought, “Hmm…Are they going to try to flog their company in a few months’ time on the back of the 7,000+ registered users they’ve got?” I followed through and bought anyway.
