Back in New York

Us at Angelo’s, W 57th, NYC

We left our friends’ house in Kentucky at 4.45 on Monday morning and arrived in Manhattan just after lunchtime. I felt surprisingly chipper when I woke up well before my alarm, which was set for 4. I knew something wasn’t right, though, when I wanted blood when our JetBlue flight lost the satellite signal for BravoTV. (I was trying to catch up on The Real Housewives of Orange County, my five word review of which is this: They’re all SUCH horrible people!)

We’ll be here until very late Wednesday night, then back to Ohio, and then - my stupid, annoying travel agency willing - I am going to go to LA for a week or so before heading back to London. (If they won’t let me pay them an exorbitant amount of money to change my ticket, I’ll have to fly back to London and immediately get on another flight to LA. I’m trying NOT to rape the planet here, people, but there’s a travel agency in Leeds that just isn’t as green-hearted as I am.) When I finally get back to London, I’m sleeping for a week, and this time I mean it.

  1. Do you still remember we have a lunchdate tomorrow, the two of you and me? At Antique cafe? At 1:00?

    Please confirm.

  2. Tatyana, who made this date with you - was it Antoine? Because I have no record of it, and as he and I have a firm and longstanding appointment at 2PM, I am deeply puzzled as to this mention of a lunchdate. I remember us talking about the possibility in the comments section of a recent post, but made no date.
