Bastards
In my exercise in anger excavation, part of which is weeding out those blogs that drive me up the wall (for various reasons), the one blog I’ve held onto is the much-needed, spectacular Guido Fawkes. It’s good for a laugh, even when it’s winding me up with news of how low the politicians in Westminster have sunk. After reading this, though, I think I’m going to have to unsubscribe from his feed:
Next Tuesday the Foreign Office will be hosting a party for the twice arrested, out-on-bail, under investigation for corruption, Sleazemaster General himself - Lord Levy. The SNP’s tenacious Mike Weir got Geoff Hoon to admit that the party is being paid for by the taxpayer - “the estimated cost is £6,000 [$12,000], which will be met by the Foreign Secretary’s entertainment budget.”
The LibDem’s Lord Oakeshott asks: “Why should the taxpayer put his card behind the bar for Lord Levy’s leaving party?” Guido would be happy to see the taxpayer pick-up the tab for levy’s food and drink - porridge and prison tea…
Tony Blair can blame bloggers all he wants for the fact that people hate him and his ilk more than ever, but - as Guido also says - he and his cronies have only themselves to blame.
