I feel like 31 is too old to still care about birthdays, but I can’t help it: This one far surpassed all expectations. I was at work all day, with lots of activity on the back of our beta launch today, and then headed over to BJ’s Brewhouse for a small gathering organized by Laura Fitton. I was exhausted due to lack of sleep over the last week, so planned just to make an appearance and then duck out after an hour or so. But it ended up being so much fun that I stayed for the duration, which wound up being a huge Qik love-in. The fact that I had the best birthday ever, even though I was at work all day, says a lot.

I really can’t thank everyone enough who sent birthday wishes my way. I’ve been quite overwhelmed by the emails, Facebook messages, tweets and phone calls I’ve received today - not to mention the presents. Thank you very much, from the bottom of my crusty old heart.
