Best new app of 2008?

Good question and a great vote of confidence for us from Scoble:

What is the hottest new service that you weren’t using in 2007? My nominations? FriendFeed. TripIt. Qik.

Apart from Qik - which I started using in February, only to have my life changed completely and unexpectedly (thanks, Pat Phelan!) - the only service I really grew to love and rely upon in 2008 is TweetDeck. I simply could not process, filter, and make useful all of the hugely valuable data flowing through Twitter without it. Below, me and the aforementioned Mr. Phelan with TweetDeck creator Iain Dodsworth at TechCrunch 50 back in September:
