Blogger - not opposition party - bringing down Gordon Brown
Posted on February 1st, 2007 by Jackie Danicki
Contrary to what is being reported by the BBC and other media, blogger Guido Fawkes is the one who lodged the formal complaint with the Charities Commission that many are saying could bring down PM-in-waiting Gordon Brown, not the Conservative ‘opposition’. You’d think reporters would spot the juicy story that lies in the truth; either they don’t or they really are dreadfully incompetent.

Jackie, I think the reporters don’t want to look at Gordon Brown, not unless they are absolutely forced to by someone like blogger Guido Fawkes. Why? Because Gordon Brown is their man. The same thing goes here in Chicago, where the media would rather act as cheerleader to our political powers-that-be than look at them objectively (let alone with scrutiny).
How else to explain the rise of Bloggers as the emerging source of critical media?
I don’t know about the media (which includes a LOT of outlets across several platforms) being protective of Brown. I think they’re just protective of their own asses - hence the reluctance to credit a blogger. I mean, you have to be doing something right if the BBC would prefer to credit the Tories than credit you.
