My dad went to school with Jungle Jim! Even more exciting (seriously, I was gasping when my dad told me this on the phone today), Jim Bonaminio was born in the same city we’re from (Lorain, Ohio). This is not so shocking, since it’s not as if Ohio is a state as big as Texas or anything, but I love finding connections like this, however loose.
My dad said he remembers that, during summer breaks, Bonaminio would drive down to Georgia to pick up watermelons, which he’d drive back to Ohio and sell for a big profit.
I love entrepreneurs, especially born entrepreneurs. I admire their ability to get things done, to take an idea and a spark and put it into action. I learn from their willingness to find the lessons from apparent failure and translate them into subsequent success. If I knew of a way to make a living just soaking up the energy and spirit of entrepreneurs, I’d have my calling.
