How much do I love Piatt Park? Having this right on my doorstep was one of the things that sold me on my current apartment. In fact, I remember searching Flickr for Cincinnati photos when I first moved to town, and seeing several gorgeous shots of those trees and arches. “I have GOT to find that place,” I thought.

I was very bad on Thursday and got myself an ice cream from Sports Page, walked over to Piatt Park, sat on a bench and watched the world go by. It was lovely, and boy was I relieved to get out of there without bird crap on my head. (If you’ve ever seen how many birds hang out there, you’ll know this is a very legitimate concern.)

    They have workers hosing down the benches on a pretty regular basis - they start at around 4AM, too (I am often awake at that time and can see the water flowing down Garfield Place from the park).
