Jungle Jim’s

This place is just INSANE. I’ve never been in such a humongous supermarket, or one with such an unbelievable selection of products. (That said, I was slightly amused that while I had to settle for cotton balls instead of cotton pads, I had my choice of canned elk, canned alligator, and canned rattlesnake.) Jungle Jim’s makes Whole Foods look like a kiosk at the mall.
The only thing I could fault them on is their backward, self-defeating policy that bars photos from being taken there. Obviously I disregarded that policy, because it is stupid.
If Jungle Jim’s was smart, they’d be inviting the area’s most prolific Flickr members to come on in for a photoblog scavenger hunt or other such event. Instead, they’re so hellbent on controlling their image that they think they can prevent candid store photos from being taken. Now that we’ve established that they are wrong, can we persuade them to be smart?

Jackie,
You didn’t look very hard… here is our Flickr area: http://www.flickr.com/photos/junglejims/
We have signs asking people not to take photos… No one pays attention to the signs. Instead of fighting it, we created the Flickr area.
Our website is scheduled to change Monday the 19th. Check it out and leave a message on our board.
Have Fun!

I “didn’t look very hard” for what, Phill? For a manager to tell me that the store has up customer-hostile signs but that it’s fine to ignore them?
Your store’s actions make no sense. Tear down the signs.
