I’d love to meet some of the women in this town who are spending several hundred dollars on an Oscar de la Renta blouse. Yes, the blouses are gorgeous, but far too modern for the supposedly conservative sorts who make up the ranks of this very wealthy city’s rich list.

    You’d be surprised– when I worked at Saks, you’d have people who you’d never think (by judging their conservative appearance) would buy anything other than Escada or (if they were being daring) Armani who would go nuts when a trunk show came to town, just nuts. They also attract a lot of people from surrounding areas– Louisville, Lexington, even Columbus (though I’m sure less so now that Columbus has such great shopping).
