Cincinnati Supper Club: It lives!

Kitchen talk

Last night was the second monthly supper of the club I started last month. It was a lot of fun, the food was fab, and the company was excellent.

The moment of truth came early in the evening.

ME: So…does anybody want to volunteer to host next month?

SILENCE.

Then, someone volunteered for next month. Then, someone else said they’d love to host in June, when their courtyard would be finished and we could eat al fresco. Then, someone else called dibs on hosting in July, saying it might be nice to eat in the park across the street.

I was scared, when I started this thing, that I’d either end up eating alone for the first meal (which I hosted) or having to take on hosting duties every month just to keep it going. So I couldn’t be happier - or more relieved - that people are genuinely enjoying themselves with this. (Details of May’s supper will be posted very soon on the blog. The host will be someone who has created or perfected some of the city’s most popular lunchtime menu items and baked goods, so I expect demand for the limited slots to be high.)
