I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I have never had a better, more fun time organizing any event than I had hosting the eighth Cincinnati Supper Club gathering last night. For some reason, the work it required felt easy and enjoyable (even the clean-up took only 20 minutes or so, and with the right soundtrack, I actually found it a pleasure). I did not stress out like I usually do - I just had a wonderful time from start to finish. I guess it helped that I was doing it for people I like so very much.
I’ve been having a rough week, lots of drama and distress - some of it less worthy of my time and attention than I at first realized. Making dinner for friends, old and new, was exactly what I needed to remind me (triteness alert!) who and what counts in this life. I’m a lucky one.
