Now this sounds interesting:
Consumers build personal pages declaring what products they have and what they are planning to buy, and volunteering information such as a 1-5 score for the quality of their current product, for example car insurance or a credit card. The UK site has gone live today after a test period, which has attracted 120,000 people.
As well as promising to make brands come to them, Pureprofile rewards consumers with a pound, payable to their bank account, for each time they respond to the messages sent by brands in their chosen product category. Marketers only pay for the leads when consumers respond, and Pureprofile claims its average response rate is 50%.
