Comment of the day (yes, already)

Hillary is sweeping this non-competition with comments like this:
Nordstrom is the gold standard. Bloomingdale’s is trying to be Macy’s, and Macy’s is trying to be Mervyn’s, and Mervyn’s is out of business, as it should always have been with a name like that, although I think their business model was to compete with the Dress Barn. Which is still in business. Moooo. Baaaaah.
Rarely have I received a comment on this blog with which I agree so wholeheartedly. (That said, there is a Dress Barn near my office, and I got a super cute pair of earrings there for $3 once when I was en route to an awards show and had forgotten jewelery.)

Hillary’s brother, aka my husband, is a Mervyn’s maven, regularly stopping in and buying himself a truly rather awesome wardrobe. What can I say? He sees the gold amidst the dross.
He gets that from his sister.
