Corporate blogging and the associated risk

David Weinberger gets a good one in while explaining why this stuff shouldn’t necessarily stop a company from blogging:
[I]f avoiding risk is your highest goal, you’ll never get married and you’ll certainly never have children. Loving your children increases your exposure dramatically!
He also explains why internal blogging works so well: it entices people to share what they know, instead of trying to discpline them into doing so (as with CRM systems and other such pains in the ass - not that there’s no place or need to track and analyse the data a company can collect via CRM, but it’s certainly no joy for anyone).
