Downtown Cincinnati restaurant updates
It looks like Sung Korean Bistro is very near opening day: They’ve got the wine glasses stacked in the windows and mid-September - the projected launch time - is nearly upon us. I cannot wait for this place to open! It’s only a block from my apartment, so part of me is hoping it’s awesome, and the other part of me is hoping it’s average enough to keep me from eating there too often. Okay, actually, ALL of me hopes it’s awesome.
In other news, Marrakech has changed its name to Diner on Elm. It’s still got the same owners and management, but I think they’re trying to let people know that they offer American food as well as Mediterranean favorites. The owners gave me a sneak preview of their new menu, which will be expanding their offering with items such as filet mignon. You’ll still be able to get your cheap, cheerful gyros, felafel wraps, and fish sandwiches, but you’ll also have the choice of something more upscale. The filets will be priced at around $17, with the menu’s cheaper entrĂ©es at the familiar $5 mark. (In general, I am a fan of abbreviated, focused menus, but since I eat at this place fairly often, I’m glad to have more choices there.)
Also, the Diner on Elm is desperate for wait staff. Please apply in person and tell them who sent you!
