Email exchange with a friend about another friend’s usual mode of travel (private jet):

FRIEND [jokingly]: Wonder what his carbon footprint looks like?
ME: Big enough to piss off Al Gore. Which, now that I think about it, is kinda hot.
FRIEND: “Big enough to piss off Al Gore.” And yet smaller than Gore’s!

Maybe if I do the Gore thing of pretending that I’m trying to save the planet, smug people will stop trying to make me feel guilty for flying around a lot. (Talk about wasting energy. It doesn’t work, people.)
