On Saturday, I had a great time meeting a handful of other Cincinnati bloggers. We were brought together thanks to the efforts of Kevin LeMaster, who engineered a tour of Over-the-Rhine’s newest crop of condos for us.
Many thanks to Kevin for knowing I’d jump at the chance to get a closer look at how local developers are infusing beautiful, well-preserved old buildings with modern sensibility. There are some stunning units (heh) in the Gateway Quarter, and you can find my many pictures from the tour here. Kevin also has a great round-up of links to the other bloggers here.
It was also a delight to put faces to the names of so many other local bloggers. Some I already knew, but most I didn’t. Even cooler, I found out that one of the other bloggers was born in the same hospital I was, a few hundred miles away from here. Not only that, we grew up literally around the corner from one another, just a quarter mile or so away. The more I move around in it, the smaller this big, bustling city gets…

I would like to pass most of the credit on to the people at the Gateway Quarter (I think it was really Holly Redmond’s idea). Developers from The Model Group, Urban Sites, OTR Community Housing, Neyer and B2B/NorthPointe were great to take time out of their Saturdays as well.
It pains me to think that I could probably afford a place as lovely as these if I lived in Cincy…
