Going, going…

…and still not packed. God knows why I’m smiling here, as I’ve got a 5AM wake-up call.
This picture was taken tonight at the party that we threw for Waxxi CEO Tracy Sheridan. (The rest of the photos are here.) It was fantastic to catch up with Tracy again - we met at the first Techdirt Greenhouse in Silicon Valley earlier this year, then again at the second one, and then again during my most recent visit to the Bay Area. I’m just gutted that I only got to see her for a couple of hours. But I’m sure I’ll be back in her neck of the woods soon, and vice versa. It was also really nice to introduce Tracy to Antoine, who has heard so much about her (and, again, vice versa).
It used to be that worlds colliding, as George Costanza put it, was something that made me very uncomfortable. Now it’s one of my greatest pleasures. Go figure.

I wonder if you ever tire of hearing the words, “I don’t know how to thank you enough…” but I am sure the number is (or very well should be) astronomical, relative to most.
If the rest of the world isn’t aware, I surely am — of how much effort you put in to making this (and every) party happen: from the planning to the orchestration to the no-small-feat-of-singlehandedly catering (deeelish!!). Yet on the eve of your departure for the US.
I’m simply amazed by you and your talents. Thank you, Ms. Jackie. And here’s to worlds colliding.
Tracy, it was absolutely my pleasure - as I said, I’m just sorry I had to run home at 11 to pack. Glad you liked the food, too!
