For the search engines’ sakes, I just have to say that Dr Grant Paterson (call him Dr Grant) at the Bryer Wallace Dental Practice in Knightsbridge is fantastic. I have always enjoyed going to the dentist (because I am blessed with good teeth and don’t go very often), but Dr Grant is so helpful and friendly and gentle that I think he may just be the best dentist ever. Antoine’s family have been going to him for years, and referring people to him far and wide. So let me join them: If you need a dentist in London, travel across town to see Dr Grant, and brave the waiting list, if you must - he’s that good.

The practice, co-founded by the father of Z-list celebrity Tania Bryer - whose husband Antoine knows from their schooling at the Lycée (he’s changed his name to Tim since then, oddly) - also features London’s best selection of recent, quality magazines. It is quite posh.
