I don’t know why, but it never occured to me before today that I might try installing something other than Movable Type. Thanks to Neville Hobson for making me realise that, duh, everyone always seems to be going on about how easy WordPress is to install. And indeed it is. They’re not joking about that five minute installation.

So why move from MT? Generally, I find it a bit of a pain in the backside, and am frustrated that Six Apart’s hosted blogging solution, TypePad (which I use for my beauty blog), has so many great features that MT does not. Hearing the chorus of bloggers saying that the new version of MT is nowhere near as easy to use or fantastic as promised was the final straw.

Things to do:

Import entries from MT, if possible.
Get jackieblogs.com domain transferred here, finally (1and1.com are a nightmare).
Make this look less blah.
