Gorgeous flat in Surbiton
We have decided not to move to Surbiton, as it would be impractical of us to move before February (boring reasons; me being out of the country for much of December and January does figure prominently). But we very nearly did, solely because the flat we saw there was just so perfect. Check it out, though the pictures don’t do it justice.
I am pretty sad that we won’t be moving into this place, because it would have been ideal for us. It’s very spacious, in a lovely neighbourhood (on St Andrew’s Square, to which we would have had access), incredibly cosy (great hardwood floors in the salon), has a spiffy Miele kitchen with granite work surfaces, tons of storage…Basically, it would have made a wonderful home for us, but we’ve had to pass for now.
A little birdie - the owner, a great guy I know through work - tells us that it’s now on a short-term let until Christmas. If you or someone you know is looking to move in the new year, and sees Surbiton as an option, consider this flat. It’s a five minute walk from Surbiton station (which is 18 minutes from Waterloo on the fast train) and a two minute walk from the Thames (the website says 5 - 10, but we did it last Saturday and honestly, it’s two minutes). You can also walk to Kingston-upon-Thames - where the shopping is fabulous - in ten minutes. Plus, there are several beautiful open spaces (Bushey Park, Hampton Court Palace, Richmond Park) in the area. I really want this good home to be paired with a worthy occupant, so please spread the word if you know anyone who may be interested.

thanks jackie for the lovely comments……it is a real shame it did not work out….
it is still free…if anyone is interested
