How he married Karen

Today is the 31st wedding anniversary of my dear friends Robert and Karen. (If I’d realized, I would have given them a present when I saw them in LA last week!) I’ve never known a man more devoted to his wife than Robert is, and the story of how they came together to create their beautiful, amazing family is the stuff of fairytales. For the first time, he’s linked in one post to every chapter of How I Married Karen that he has blogged over the last several years. It’s the kind of thing I will print out and read over and over again.

I have been in love with my wife Karen since I was 9-years-old and we were both students at Yeshiva of Flatbush Elementary School in Brooklyn. I have adored and been devoted to Karen for most of my life.

Every morning I wake and say to myself: It’s true, Karen married you; together we have built a wonderful life and nurtured a glorious family. We have shared boundless joys and endured tragedy beyond the limits of language. Through it all, our love and friendship has endured and only become stronger, more profound.

That much is clear to anyone who knows them. Happy anniversary, guys. You’ve earned it.
