This is so easy to sneer at, but I’m taking the less easy option. (Try not to recoil in horror at Amanda Holden’s awful plastic surgery. She was beautiful the way she was!)

    I just hope Simon Cowell doesn’t end up beating this guy’s ego senseless later on down the line. And that the British tabloids don’t dig into the guy’s background and make a big deal of it if he’s never had a girlfriend or whatever (or, try to rip him to shreds by saying he’s some lothario and so is a big con artist). That build ‘em up to rip ‘em down thing they have going on is really ugly.
