I am so smart! I am so smart! I am so smart! I am so smart! S-M-R-T! I mean, S-M-A-R-T

Sometimes I will totally blank out on what the American word or phrase is for a certain thing. Most recently, I was on the phone with my best friend back in Ohio and had to ask how to say tea towel (”What do Americans call those towels you use to dry dishes?”) in American (dishcloth, of course). Just now, though, I had to call the front desk at my hotel because I couldn’t get an electrical appliance to work. So they sent up a handyman, who ended up having to show me how to plug something in and use the reset button. I think this is a new low, and a sign that I need to spend more time here.
