Identity and Federation: Who needs ‘em?
A few weeks ago, I met up for (a really rather good) breakfast at the Palo Alto Creamery with a friend I made a few years ago in London, Alec Muffett. Alec has unmatched pedigree as a veteran hacker, and is now doing interesting things for Sun Microsystems as a security guru. You can imagine how much I learn from him in a single conversation. (I can only imagine how much I fail to learn! I do try, though.)
Alec and I talked a lot about security, VRM, and identity over our meal - all fascinating stuff. So I was thrilled to see that he’s put down some of his very compelling thoughts about identity - and, more interestingly, Identity - in a single blog post. Check it out, then ask yourself one thing: Whether you agree with Alec’s take or not, do you think this is a matter within the grasp of the average (or even the most impressive) politician? Just curious.
