As you may have read, I don’t buy into the supposed accuracy or relevance of ‘top bloggers’ lists, but my place on this one is interesting. If I did buy into such rankings, I’d be rather chuffed that all I have to do to curry even more influence is cross-post at Samizdata, which is ranked number seven.
I know by name quite a few journalists, editors, politicians, and intellectuals (if I can invoke that word) who read this blog (some of whom also read Samizdata, which attracts quite an enviable readership of actual influencers). Which is why, I suppose, I insist on a fluff-free blog that only tackles the most serious issues of the day.

Thanks for the link. However I must take issue with the Marmite v Vegemite post/issue/controversy.
This is something I hold close to my heart. Vegemite is tasteless in comparison to the all mighty, all tasteful Marmite. How can you even compare the two?
