Hello mum! After 62 years, the moment a mother was reunited with the girl she gave away. I’m only sorry they didn’t film it and stick the footage on YouTube.

Last night, a friend casually mentioned, as an aside to a larger point she was trying to make, that she’d had a baby girl at age 17 and given her up for adoption. My throat got tight and I thought I might cry, which is when my friend added that they’d found one another and get along very well now. She then continued making her main point, which I can’t even remember now.

Someone pointed out to me recently that I could adopt a baby right now if I really wanted one. It might not be easy from a bureaucratic standpoint, but it could be done. I don’t think I’ve heard anything so scary in years.
