I’m giving a talk at a jail in Kentucky next week

I can honestly say that this never figured in my masterplan for life, or even in my intricate plottings for the last 24 hours. How unoriginal of me! I’m quite excited about it all.

    No, I’m going to do what’s called in AA “giving a lead,” where you tell your story. It’s a 12th step act - trying to help other alcoholics - and as much for my benefit as it is for theirs (as is all 12th step activity). I love listening to other peoples’ leads, so hope I do a good job for these people.
