Invading the British Consulate

Three stooges at the British Consulate

A few of us headed over to the British Consultate (12 Presidio, if you want to show up on their doorstep) for drinks and perhaps the best canapés of the week. Paul Birch was astonished that they were even better than the ones offered by his company, Bebo, the night before, and was particularly taken by the combination of mascarpone and preserved figs on top of thin slices of baguette. He wasn’t alone, truth be told: It’s quite funny to see a group of technology innovators bowled over by the nibbles.

A great bunch of people showed up, too: Craigslist co-founder Jim Buckmaster, Yahoo Fire Eagle maestro Tom Coates, Guardian guy Neil McIntosh, Shiny Media founder Ashley Norris, and of course the Web Mission contingent. We had a lovely time and managed not to break any valuables (as far as I know or will admit to).

  1. Yes, how about those millionaires.

  2. Oh, that’s a low blow. They’re people, too (and lovely ones at that).

  3. They can win back my favor by sending me a check.

  4. Jim, you’re incorrigible.
