Je suis arrivé!

Hotel Costes

At Christmas in London, I was sad because I didn’t have time to pop over to Paris. I missed this place so much! Now here I am, all of a sudden. It’s hard not to feel lucky.

The only negative so far is my shame at how much my spoken French has disintegrated since I started going out with Antoine. It has always just been so much easier to let him do all the talking in French-speaking places. While I can now understand more of what I hear, I’m probably worse at speaking French than I was in high school. I can get by, but not with a great deal of pride. Good thing almost everyone speaks English.

Unlike most French people, I am pleased that President Sarkozy has married Carla Bruni. They seem happy! I hope everyone will let them be, but doubt it. Anyway, here’s France’s new first lady, singing a song we used to listen to at dinner (along with a bunch of other French music) sometimes in London:

  1. Wow! That looks like a very comfy hotel indeed. My problem with pretty much all the really nice hotels I’ve stayed in was that I never got to spend much time in them due to work. Hope you will be luckier than me on this account.

  2. Gor blimey that’s nice…

… I suppose it would be rude to enquire about the toiletries provided in your room seeing as how you’re there for other cosmetic work?

  3. raker, I’m going to post about the toiletries (they are FAB!). Lancome hasn’t bought me!
