Le Web 3

I sort of wanted to go to Paris for this, and am now thinking I should have. Instead, I got to watch highlights trickle in via Twitter on my BlackBerry, as I was laid up in bed with a bad case of food poisoning. I know where I’d rather have been.

My favorite two quotations from the event are these. Doc Searls (via Dennis Howlett):

I bet that made all the socialists’ heads hurt…if they even understood him in the first place.

Second, from Jason Calacanis - someone whose words and work I am not such a fan of, but who makes a good point - via Le Web 3 organizer Loic Le Meur:

As Internet people we shouldn’t bother with people who don’t understand the Internet because they’ll be dead soon.

In the case of moral busybodies and politicians (often the same people), we can only hope…

  1. But the “caring professionals” do tend to breed and send their wonderful and sensitive offsping to Schools of Social Welfare (I kid you not).
