London tornado
Posted on December 7th, 2006 by Jackie Danicki
It hit about three miles from our house, so we’re totally fine and unaffected. When it happened, I was actually out and about in Temple Fortune (a few more miles away from our house), walking against the wind and rain, without an umbrella or a hat, because I am a fool. I had no idea about the tornado until I got a concerned text from Antoine on my phone, swiftly followed by a phone call in which he told me about it. It seems my father in Ohio knew about it before I did, too. Blissful ignorance: Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

Glad you weren’t hit.
ITV News had an expert on who revealed that, per square mile, Britain has more tornados than any other country. Amazing.
Then Channel 5 News had an expert on who said that global warming might be to blame for this highly unusual and unprecedented event.
I forget who ITV’s expert was, but they listed his credentials and interviewed him from his office at a university. Channel 5’s expert was hanging around in the street at the scene of the destruction and her only credentials appeared to be the words “Tornado Expert” in the on-screen caption. Who to believe? Hmm.
