Loving Las Vegas

Rishi, Qik’s product marketing manager, and I flew to Vegas tonight after a(nother) simply exhilarating, exhausting day at the office. We’re in town for the New Media Expo, so come say hi at the space we’re sharing with our super cool partners at Mogulus if you’re around.

This is my first time in Las Vegas, and I have to admit that I wasn’t really looking forward to it. There’s a lot going on right now, and I have a busy week ahead of me, and I just kept thinking that I could really do without the interruption to my daily work flow (as if that’s ever predictable anyway). Plus…well, I don’t gamble and I don’t drink. How much fun could a pit of vulgarity like Vegas be? As it turns out so far, very freaking fun. We got here pretty late, so this is based only on the trip from the airport to our hotel (we have suites at The Palazzo, $159/night - thanks, Pat, for the hook-up!). This town is just so over the top that I can’t help but feel like a very hyper child here. I really could not have believed that a place like this existed until I saw it.

How could a city with an artificial volcano that erupts every 15 minutes (except in bad weather) not be?
