Meeting of the minds
I met up with Zopa inventor and Business Architect - and Zopa blogger - Dave Nicholson today. He had a latté, I chugged Diet Coke, and we had a lengthy chat about all kinds of geeky business and marketing stuff.
I don’t have much to say in this space about that, except that it was great to meet someone who shares my enthusiasm for those subjects. Zopa is great, and its potential for even more innovation is huge. It’s a living, breathing case study for all sorts ground-shifting ideas about what individuals are capable of and how companies can enable them - even if it’s through backing off most of the time - to do so. I think it’s one of the first of many companies whose business models will change how business does things, and how people interact with commercial entities.
And the guy who came up with the business was the one buying me Diet Coke. Dave, I owe you one.
