Meryl Streep to star in blog-turned-movie

This news makes me so happy for Julie Powell. I encountered her in New York last year and found her to be self-effacing to the point where I almost wanted to shake her and say, “You ARE worthy! Shut up!” I hope she is pleased, as she should be.

I just love examples of how we really have no clue what is going to happen when we extend ourselves towards others. You can’t predict the ROI of life.

  1. You’re nicer than I am. I think the “success” of the book was the worst that that could happen to her as a writer. The blog was great, the book much less so, and now she’s doing a stunt book (learning to be a butcher). And Nora Ephron will tromp all over the charm of the blog.
