More Cathy

Amy Alkon (another treasured friend I made through of Cathy Seipp) has written beautifully about Cathy, and included some great photos. I was asked earlier tonight to submit any photos I’ve taken of Cathy to the LA Times obituary department, which they might be able to use with her obituary, and while none of the many I have taken of Cathy over the years may be suitable, I did take some really good ones. I will post them later on, because they really show Cathy the way I want to remember her: vibrant and, if not (due to illness) full of energy, full of the desire to live, and full of love and concern for her daughter.

After our gathering last night when you told me about your friend, Cathy, I took a little time to read about her. I am sad to learn of her passing - though we never knew each other. But I think it’s always sad to read about someone’s life after it has happened. She sounds like a wonderful person, someone who I could have learned a lot from about life, my work and how to live to the fullest. I’m very sorry for your loss, but be sure, as I think you know, you were very lucky to get to know her.
