Jackie Danicki

Microsoft’s Robert Scoble has a lovely wife, Maryam Ghaemmaghami Scoble, who also works for Microsoft as a webcast producer. I met her briefly in June, but find out more about her from the blog she recently started. It usually makes me laugh, or at least smile. This entry made me laugh and wince, as it hits a bit too close to home for me.

Antoine said to me at five o’clock this morning, as I swapped texts with my boss, “I’m very tempted to ask you to turn that thing off at night.” I resisted the urge to respond, “It’s not night. It’s morning,” but didn’t have the heart. (Before you think I’m some kind of madwoman and my boss is some kind of monster, today’s circumstances were exceptional, hence the early communication. I do tend to keep checking email on my smartphone until just before I fall asleep, though, which is both insane and irritating to others. Maryam and Antoine should form a support group or something.)
