Not so elegantly wasted
Hillary arrived from America this morning, and today’s been spent getting stuff together for tomorrow’s event and nailing down some urgent work for a client. I am running on empty - and on ethanol. (Daylight hours are pretty cough-free, but when it gets dark, I cough in lieu of sleep. Amazingly, this does not leave me feeling at all rested or refreshed. Weird!)
The nicest thing about today was tonight, when I finally got to sit Hillary down for dinner with Antoine’s mother. I’d been telling them about one another for so many months. “Oh, you HAVE to meet her, you guys will really get on.” I never do get tired of being right on that score, and the sound of laughter from the table as I walked away to gulp cough medicine was the best noise I’ve heard in a while.
