Philips’ customer ’service’

Guardian man Neil McIntosh is going through his version of Dell Hell, this time with Philips. Don’t just blog it, Neil: Get a piece in the paper out of this.

On a happier note, when I asked Sainsbury’s why they keep sending me lean organic mince every time I order extra lean organic mince, they apologised profusely and gave me a £15 voucher. Think I’ll stick with them.

  1. Yeah, tech companies are definately the worst for it. I’ve recently been having problems with my iTunes/iPod. Purchased songs won’t play on the iPod, Apple’s help pages are no help at all, so I e-mail them with the problem.

What’s their solution? To give me a free song credit… to play on my iPod… that won’t play iTunes songs. Thanks, Apple.

  2. Have you had any experience with ordering from Ocado, who are coordinated with Waitrose? We’ve been with them for 3 years, and think they’re superb (and always chucking in e.g. free wine or ice cream etc. on top, just right for disrupting the lives of people trying to lose those last few pounds.. ;-) )

  3. I’ve been tempted to try Ocado. Thing is, I spend about £90/week on groceries, and that’s by mostly shopping based on Sainsbury’s offers (we get through a LOT of fruit and veg, and stuff like vintage balsamic vinegar). When I checked out Ocado, the offers that were on at that time were for junky food that we don’t eat, so I didn’t bite. I might try them out, though, as I like a lot of Waitrose products. (Sainsbury’s gave us our first freebie this week: two packets of Walker’s Baked crisps, which I tried to reject but eventually accepted from the driver. I don’t know if I’d have the strength to refuse free ice cream and vino, though…)
