Polly: Wanna smack her?
I really miss Peter Cuthbertson. He doesn’t blog anymore, really, as he’s now working in Washington, DC, in politics, which is his natural calling. Peter and I used to have these very intense and infuriating (well, on my end, anyway) debates about all sorts of issues, since we seemed to disagree on, oh, almost everything. But he’s a good guy, very funny in an unexpected way and quite easy to talk with for many hours.
Anyway, I was very pleased to see that Polly Toynbee (she’s so wrong-headed that even Peter and I could always agree on her awfulness) devoted her entire column yesterday to bitching about Peter’s latest published work. I haven’t even read the thing, but even if I thought it was a load of rubbish, I’d still find it hilarious and wonderful that he has managed to wind her up so much. Well done, Cuthbertson!
