Pontin’s photo theft update

As I noted in an update here, Pontin’s have removed the photo of me (copyright belonging to journalist Amy Alkon) from their website, but have yet to respond with an explanation or apology for using it in the first place.

I exchanged emails with Pamela Knight, a “PR consultant” for Pontin’s, who went silent when I sent her the link to my blog post explaining the implications of their misuse of the photo. The picture was replaced with another (of who, I wonder?) some time after that, but Pamela Knight has not responded to my emails since.

I can imagine why. The truth - that Pontin’s used a picture (to which they did not have rights) of a blogger who has nothing to do with them, in an attempt to portray that blogger as their blogger (because their blog is a steaming pile of ghost-written crap) - does not put their company in a flattering light. Continued silence doesn’t help, though.
