Question for Charlie Rose
Posted on August 20th, 2007 by Jackie Danicki
How can you have Steve Ballmer (Microsoft) and John Chambers (Cisco) on stage for a live interview - at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, of all places - and NOT ask a single damn question about their companies’ behavior in China?
So much for hard-hitting, take-no-prisoners (no pun intended, as the situation in China is not remotely funny) journalism.

I agree. How much energy does the Chinese government spend on monitoring citizen’s online activities, and how much does their partnership with Microsoft assist in this action?
I am a long-time fan of Charlie Rose, but when he delves into my specialty (architecture) he falls completely flat, because he just trumpets the starchitects, especially Frank Gehry, and he completely dismisses new urbanism which I feel is really the future of the profession. This makes me feel that he is missing the boat on other subjects in which I lack expertise.
Well, considering how flat he falls when it comes to politics, Rose fell in my estimation a long time ago. But this is just too much.
