Rave reviews for Rob

Schuyler and Rob

When I met up with Rob and Schuyler in Texas last weekend, he gifted me with a galley copy of his book. I was honored and thrilled, and devoured it in a couple of days. (I also morphed into Bipolar Traveler while I read Schuyler’s Monster, laughing out loud and then choking back tears on flights to Tennessee and Arkansas.)
I can only tell you what I told Rob: He’s written a deeply involving, intensely moving book. I was surprised at what a page-turner I found it, since - after all - I’ve been tracking his and Schuyler’s story since before she was born. But Rob’s got a knack for hooking the reader that I’d put up there with Kazuo Ishiguro’s talent for the same.
Now, Kirkus Reviews has given Rob his first published review. They loved it.
Relating the battle for his exceptional daughter with nimble wit, ardor and considerable descriptive ability, Rummel-Hudson has evolved from blogger to author.

I’m going to order one now - I learned of Rob’s blog and family on this blog and I am so glad I did (they’ve haunted me since). And Jackie, if you ever write a book, I’ll buy it too. Girls of the free markets and free minds variety gotta stick together (and you don’t write that mortifying, gender embarassing dung that some other bloggers do, thinking here of the NYC gal now in Austin who writes about “straight up and dirty” martinis and her shoe, handbag and relationship woes as though our gender were incapable of focusing on anything else…).
Wow, thanks, MJ! You made me feel good. And I’m sure Schuyler would love the idea of haunting strangers…
She’ll haunt you and then steal your cookies when you’re not looking.
That’s OK, I’ll share.
