Reality is reality

PR people have their own set of gospel truths, one of the most mistaken being that perception is reality. (I thank Adriana for getting me into the habit of pushing the truth that reality is reality.) They are holding onto it with a death grip, despite the debunking and revelation we see happening online on a daily basis. For an example of breathtaking ignorance of this new world - and reality - you have to see how one political candidate thought he could PhotoShop his way to glory.

  1. I used to be an ardent believer in this. It led to a lot of lies and a string of unhappy days.

At the same time, if I’m peaceful and loving and kind, etc. and that’s the pereception AND the reality it gets tricky.

Where it sucks is where I’m peaceful and loving and kind, etc. and the pereception is otherwise. Or I GET people to perceive me as peaceful and loving and kind and I am otherwise, which I’ve experienced.

It’s something I’ve heard many times but I appreciate you bringing it up. I think I’m best off just being who I am and letting perception do what it wants I think I’ll be happier.
